Nokia Gets Set to Launch N-Gage Gaming Device in October
Nokia is gearing up to bring its N-Gage gaming device to American retail stores in early October. The Finnish mobile phone maker said the N-Gage game deck is expected to be sold for $299, and accompanying game cards will be sold separately ranging from $30 to $40. Based on the Symbian operating system, N-Gage combines mobile phone functionality with MP3 playback capabilities, an FM radio and Internet connectivity through GPRS.

Pogo Technologies, a U.K.-based company, is betting that its compact wireless device will fill a big gap. The gap? The emergence of 3G technologies. Pogo's solution: an all-in-one hybrid product optimized for GSM.
The Pogo, now available in the U.K., will be considered for a U.S. debut, the company said in a release.
