A Quick Review Of The Coleman Tent Light

There is nothing worse than trying to navigate your tent in the dark and either stubbing your toe on something heavy, which hurts you, or stubbing your toe into somebody else trying to sleep, which might hurt them (especially if you have long toenails!). That is where the Coleman tent light comes in, it has a magnet to attach it to the tent poles (if you have a small tent with the plastic bendable poles then they give you some metal to place on the outside of your tent so the magnet will stick to that and hold it in place!) and it is a battery powered light that sits near the top of your tent and casts light across a wide area.

You are going to need 4 aa batteries to power this, but people report that it doesn’t use much power when it is on so the batteries tend to last a long time. Please note though that the Coleman tent light is probably best for smaller tents for 2, 3 or 4 people, the light it gives off isn’t bright enough for larger tents (unless you buy two of course).

It is a bit bulky, but it is easy to install which is important at the end of a long day hiking, and more importantly people love it! There are 96 reviews on Amazon at the moment with most of them giving glowing 4 or 5 star reviews. Some people have complained about not being able to read with it (if you want to read with it then position it near you, rather than at the top of the tent) and others have had trouble with the magnet opening the battery compartment cover when you take it down, but overall this Coleman is a well liked, high quality piece of kit.

Here is what some of the people who have bought this are saying:

"I didn’t realize there were tent lights. I’ve always used a lantern. But couldn’t direct the light where I wanted it. I’m thrilled to have found this. What a great idea! "

"I like this because it attaches to metal, the light is just the right brightness, and it works well for the non-regular camper. Of course, it’s a Coleman so I expect nothing less than great quality."

"This is a nice little light. Very strong magnet that keeps it where you want it"
