June 14, 2001 – Palm is getting playful.

Infogrames Interactive and Finland's Springtoys yesterday announced they would team up to provide a series of games for the PalmOS.

Under the agreement, Springtoys will produce six Infogrames' titles for the popular PDA: Driver, Centipede, Asteroids, Deer Hunter, Pro Bass Fishing and Beachhead 2000.

The games are scheduled to be available in the early summer of 2001.

"More than 11 million people currently use PDA devices, making this a logical step to expand both our brand and audience reach," said Jon Leach, Vice President, Licensing, for Infogrames.

Infogrames is one of the world's largest third-party interactive entertainment publishers. Based in New York, it is a majority-owned subsidiary of France-based Infogrames Entertainment SA (IESA) and serves as the headquarters for the company's operations in North America.

Springtoys, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, designs and licenses technology for developing and distributing high-end wireless games. Founded in January 2000, Springtoys is owned by Sonera Corporation, Housemarque Inc., Eqvitec Partners, Wellington Partners, Shamrock, Enel and Springtoys management.
